Treatment of the strandings:

Those who failed or leave the water level will have to be announced near the Steering Committee while posting on
the dedicated forum, the copy of their message of stranding.

The handing-over to water of the failed ships will be done by the function “given to the water” of VT (system already used on
RWC)… But the participants will have to stop totaly 12 hours total before taking again their road.
For example, a stranding at 9 a.m. 30 GMT makes it possible to set out again with the race at 9 pm GMT, therefore to regulate his boat
between 20 and 21 H GMT.

In the event of nonrespect the stop & go (departure before the 12 hours) it will be sanctioned by new
Stop & Go of the double of stolen time.

Endorsement to the IC of:05/10/2006

The management of the failures will proceed in two distinct ways.

Up to October 10, the starting line remaining opened, the button of handing-over
to water will bring back the boats to Brest to take a second departure. He
will be then useless to adhere to the stop and 12 hours go provided for in
initial instructions of race.

After October 10, the starting line being closed, the function of handing-over
with water will not be effective any more. To take again the sea, it will be necessary to carry out
a request to Virtual Transat by mail [vric@virtualtransat.com].

The minimum stop and go 12 hours will be implemented then to the failed boats.

Regulate stop and go

The stop and go is calculated as from the hour of the failure.

The handing-over to the water is automatic, that Ci will be able to occur front
the 12 hours of provided for penalties in which case the boats will thus have
to stop the boat until to have purged the penalty. In the event of handing-over with
water beyond the 12 provided for hours, the competitor will have only with of
to even take with him.

It is, to avoid such misfortunes, highly advised not
to fail the days before of weekend and during the spring tides in Brittany
(the rescue squads at sea are not available to these periods
there).

Instructions: To stop a boat to regulate the regulator of pace to 0°
wind.
